GFS gets us down to 5 and the cmc down to -5 and with a snow pack in place one can wonder he we flirt with zero. I suspect with full sun even with sub freezing temps we see a decent amount of evaporation and melting of the snow pack.

I wouldn’t be surprised, especially Saturday and Sunday morning as there will be a strong HP nearby that should allow optimal radiational cooling. Assuming snow pack is still widespread by then it’s definitely possible to see lows near or below 0 imo. Just a few days ago we got down to 9F at my house and on my way to work one area was 8F.
Also, as a side note it’s crazy to see the rivers frozen over.

There was some video on Facebook I saw where wind blown ice toward the sounds was hitting docks and the pilings would bend then break the ice in very cool fashion haha. Crazy

Just about everything in Greenville is froze over Boz, all the big ponds out past hasting Fords are frozen and snow covered....Port Terminal should be frozen over as well....
NAM only takes us down to around 10, GFS takes us to 8, CMC goes to -6, RGEM -1......normally the CMC is too low however the models were 5-8 degrees to warm ( accept CMC) with our lows earlier this week when we hit 10 and 8 they all had us in mid teens....tonight will be a good test, the CMC has us at 5 the rest low teens....would be a great way to cap off a record setting cold snap IMO....its only been below zero once in eastern NC in modern times in 1985.
Hit 10 at PGV on a forecast for 16 that was then lowered to 14 late last night.....probably some upper single digits in low spots. Highs Sat might struggle out of the upper teens if that happens below zero Sat night is possible maybe even likely.
