Uhhh guys?
The euro has two waves riding the frontal boundary. One Saturday the next Sunday. Both are like the GFS single wave. So it snow for like a day+ on euro
getting more then 3 inches of snow in april east of the mountains in Nc is almost as uncommon as a hobbit riding a unicorn, short of a perfect storm and lots of drugs you won't see either lol.
The frontal passage on Sat/Sun could be epic and bring widespread wind damage...it wont snow but we could see temps crash from 65-75 down into the low to mid 30's in just 2-4 hrs....with most of that coming in a hr. Figure sustained winds 25-30ish with gust 45-55 right before, during and after the actual frontal passage. Euro shows gust to low 60's possible.

Yeah just saw that... with the rapid temperature change there would have to be some intense winds and if any thunderstorms are along that line they could be pretty intense as well. Sure looks like a wild Saturday ahead.

Wow. This is 06z 3km nam.
With a boundary that sharp and 500cape and tons of shear storms will be extreme. And with that much cooling along the storm front (look right off the edge of the gradient and you can see a maxima of cool temps. That’s the storm line). Hail will be abundant and it’s slow moving too.
It’s almost like a sea breeze on absolute steroids.

Going to be a pretty fun day weather wise as I am a severe/wind junkie and the day has all the hallmarks of a intense narrow nasty squall with QLCS features
From SPC
...Eastern Carolinas...
Other strong to severe storms may occur over the eastern Carolinas
as the cold front continues east. Despite weaker instability in this
region, strong deep layer winds and vertical shear accompanying the
upper trough would support a risk for organized structures within
the evolving squall line with a threat for damaging wind and maybe a
Had a few house rattling boomers last night.....rain gauge has .80" in it but that includes whatever we got with that little thunderstorm the other day but it was less than .20", will be interesting to see how quickly it cools off with this cold front....models no longer have it as sharp and fast though so meh.
Welp, 4:26 a.m. on April 8th, and it is snowing at Bozart Farm.
Sweet I woke up around that time and I saw that last band moving through on my phone and thought if its gonna snow it will be now but I looked out the window and I thought I saw flakes mixed in, there was sleet for sure, I was to lazy/warm to go outside and check. Saw several FB reports though of people seeing snow in town.
