Yeah I drove there a few mins ago Steve and it's really close in some areas. Also near Old Creek road many areas getting close to the road. Looks like it should crest about 25 feet or so.

It looks like it'll come close but unless it goes much above 25 feet I think you should still be fine.

I would love to know what Chicod Creek is doing. No one I work with that drives from Washington has a clue how to gauge water rise. I read on Facebook (yeah, I know) that the water was almost back to the edge of the road by the Giraffe close to the bridge.
I was going to go by there today, but didn't get a chance.

It was still open this afternoon....where do you work?

The Wally World on E 10th St. As far as I can tell, that would be my only way in or out and I **** sure don't want to go to work at Noon and get stuck over there after I get off at 11pm.

I live on Tucker Rd, if you turn where the guy has the little barber shop on Hwy 33 I am about a mile down that road...I go to that Wal Mart 3 times a week at least lol...its hard to say if any of the back ways are clear I know a couple of ways to go around Chicod Creek if it is closed....easiest is take a left on Blackjack Grimesland Hwy in Grimesland....take that all the way to Blackjack Simpson Hwy and take a right...go down and take a left on Mobleys Bridge Rd....go down and take the right onto Ivy.....take Ivy to Tucker.....on Tucker you have to take a right on Beddard ( Tucker washed out further down)...at the end of Beddard you are back at Blackjack Simpson go left ( cant go right its washed out) and follow Blackjack Simpson back to Hwy 33 at teh Trade and take a left....Now there are 4-5 bridges over little swampy creeks that all go into Chicod Creek and I dont think any of them are on the road closure map....I know those roads well that my part of the county lol...if ya get lost call me I will PM you my cell if you decide to try it...I am most likely off work all week since its in the flood zone so I will be around.
The question is how will the tarboro crest bust to the high side impact the gville crest level... tarboro still climbing
And the Tarboro portion was forecast just a few days ago to hit only 32 feet if I remember correctly? That would be at least 4 feet more than thought and I could see it hitting 37 feet possibly. I think Greenville will crest around 26-26.5 feet based on upstream trends.
Looks like tabor is cresting at the moment. Greenville running slightly higher than forecast by a couple of inches and we still have a foot to go before cresting tomorrow. We stay at major flood stage for several days after the crest
Its hard to tell if the river in Greenville will continue to rise and maybe do so a little quicker and actually get 27-28 ft, or crest more slowly and only get 25-26 but stay at crest for for a day or two then fall slowly....cause right now the river is coming up at the most a 1" or so a hr...also I wonder just how high the gauge at Town Commons can measure, its already showing readings going up and down and its only maybe 5-6 ft higher than the walkway at the edge of the river....

I'm expecting the crest to reach about 25-26 feet in Greenville. I don't think it goes any higher than that but you never know. Wonder if they'll shut down 264 or if any portions of it will flood?
