Just got back from a jaunt through Greenville. The Green Mill Run is out of its banks, spilling and over Charles Blvd. and 14th St., which were closed. Lots of leaf debris, a few fallen branches, a couple downed trees. Flooded back yards and bean fields. A downed tree has (or had) Windsor Rd. through Brook Valley closed down. Nothing too out-of-the-ordinary. Certainly no Floyd. But Eastern Pines Road below the dam at Lake Glenwood might need some work once again.
Had a few trees down across davenport farms road. Damage is on par with winds we had. Trees look battered and theres lots of water around. Still have running water over frog level road. Went out and bought a bunch of water just in case we lose water like we did during the floyd floods.
0.40 today since midnight 7.64 yesterday 0.57 Friday ------- 8.61 storm total
CORRECTION: I just found leaf debris had kept some water pooled in my gauge bucket. I cleared the debris, and it then registered an additional .48. So my actual storm total is 9.09".

Several dams in Wilson have breached. Silver Lake Dam and hearing Lake Wilson Dam is overflowing and may possibly breach. Here is the info from the Wilson county times below.

Tar in Greenville looks to be under projected forecasts right now...I think we may have been lucky this time around. I won't be surprised if it doesn't touch 24 feet
Stiff winds are pushing water out we should be safe from any insane problems.

Dangerous assumption to make. Numerous creeks that feed the tar are at all time record high crests. Rocky mount is almost a full 3 feet above floods crest. That water has to come downstream.

yeah they thought the same thing in 99.....the major creeks feeding the river are still at record levels until that water gets into the river its going to be hard to tell.....Rocky Mount at this point does not plan to open the dam there, there is a critical number they work with, if the lake level exceeds that then they have to release the water or face total dam failure.....so far they do not think that will be needed so 24-25 ft might be more reasonable that the previous 27....if they have to release water then Tarboro and Gville will be much worse.....
A few minutes after seeing the wind report of N 45G59 my internet went out. Only now, 16 hours later has it returned. Thankfully, and to my amazement, the electricity stayed on throughout.
I don't have cable TV so I was completely out of contact with news of the storm (instead of cable I use a Roku for streaming TV and movies). Perhaps I should buy an antenna for the TV being I get nothing local from my Roku. That or perhaps I can subscribe to a local channel, will have to research it. Oh, my cell phone alarm went off twice (loud as heck). Surprised me 'cause I didn't even know there was an alarm message system from the cell phone.
Listened to that wind all night, seemed never to let up much. Heard all sorts of sounds ... roars, whistles, moans, and so on. Lots of tall trees nearby and they danced through the night. Rained like crazy of course but I'm on high ground so no problem there.

The City of Greenville has been waiting for a update for NWS to plan evacuations and they must have had that meeting....here are the evacuations ordered so far..
