A new month! We are entering the heart of the wonderful NC summer. With the beginning of July looking rather stormy and not insanely hot maybe we can squeeze out some decent severe days before hot and dry.
I'm out of the state for the next 3 weeks and have been out for the past 3 lol. Am down in Mississippi and Alabama for the next week then on to Texas, Oklahoma, Arizona, and Kansas for abt 10-12 days. Will get back to Gville around the 27th.
So I'm sure u guys will rack up on the storms. Maybe I can catch some supercells out here. Oh and it's currently 96 here

Going back to wednesday nights storms the mhx Dopplar has 4 to 5 inch markers over my house. I think I'm just southeast of the 5 inch areas. We just had another heavy downpour that surely added a decent amount to those totals.
Had a quick inch of rain this am right around 6-7 with some decently loud and close thunder......now its wicked humid out so I imagine this afternoon we see a lot of afternoon storms.

Thanks for sharing those pics Steve, looks like you had a gully washer! Was that the line of storms that moved through in the early morning hours or was it a different band of storms? Were they just really slow moving?
Heat Index already at 100 at 10:30 in the morning, gonna be a rough week if you gotta be outside, I dont and next week I am on vacation on the sound for a week and the heat looks to back off.

Lol lucky! Was outside cutting grass this morning and have more yard work to do tomorrow. Sure is humid too. Storms popping up and slight risk with a watch possible according to SPC.
Wow -- nice round of thunderstorms in Fountain! About an inch of rain, so far. Wind gust to 38. Pretty sharp lightning. No hail. Also, no power in my immediate neighborhood, or so the landlady reports. Some sizzling July weather drama, the way it's supposed to be! 😊
Well, the power came back on at my house 15 or 20 minutes ago. 1.45" in my gauge. 1.43" at the Fountain Store. (I can hardly believe that thing soldiered through without a glitch.) Not a flooding rain, but a nice ditch-filler.
Since I saw no severe weather, I post about it in the general obs thread. But it was a great storm anyway. Odds are it will turn out to be the storm of the season for me. It even knocked over one of my tobacco plants I've got going in five-gallon buckets. That doesn't happen every day.

Had a nice storm here in Knightdale today, nothing severe here either but some torrential downpours along with sharp lightning. It was nice to see a widespread band of storms move through the area today, I would estimate around .75 fell during the downpour. I wonder what tom, Steve and the others on here saw? You know it's a strange day when Bozart ends up getting more than 1" of rain and a good storm too!

Really nice thunderstorm here in Knightdale right now, probably the best one of the year for me. Nothing severe but torrential downpours, gusty winds and nice CG lightning. Slow moving too so it's lasting awhile. I would estimate 1" of rain has fallen from this storm maybe a little more when it's all said and done.
