Bozart hit the jackpot again with his .13 of rain lol. We ended up with around 1.10" of rain I would estimate, a nice soaking downpour last night. By the time I made it inside the house I was soaked as if I had just jumped into the shower. Preston is out in Oklahoma for the week and models are hinting at some nice supercells Thursday or Friday and then with Steve up in Delaware maybe someone on here will get some nice pictures of a supercell!
Some strong storms developing in the mountains and slowly drifting east, would be nice to get a storm to cool things off some.
I'm up in lewes delaware for the week. 4k nam has a solid set of storms tonight for here but their nws office is only calling for 30% chances.
Ah Lewes ... that's a neat little town. Good seafood there. Day trip via ferry to Cape May is fun. I need to get back to my old Delaware haunting grounds one of these days. Hope you have a great time!
The most pleasant memories of my youth are the summer vacations to Rehoboth, Bethany and most of all Fenwick where we rented the same little cottage for many years. The coastal highway was just two lanes wide and it was the only paved road! The back side of the coastal highway was all wilderness!
Soft ice cream at the Dairy Queen, the general store that also served as a post office (for sending post cards back home), salt water taffy ... walking down the sand-covered little beach roads, crossing the dunes to the big white sandy beach .... ahhhh. The beach and dunes were bigger then, and the sand was definitely whiter, the water cleaner and clearer. No hi-rises, no crowds, no TV or electronic gadgets to consume (waste) one's time ... an era now long gone. Did we have fun, you betcha!

Hey tim, we are having a good time but this area is so touristy now that it's really hard to enjoy Rehoboth with all the crowds. The traffic is unbearable. We only have 6 mimes to get to Rehoboth and it took us 40 minutes yesterday.
Fishers popcorn, kohr brother ice cream and thrashers fries are all the new hot spots here nowadays.
.64" so far at the Fountain Store. Meanwhile at my house, 2.5 miles away: .04"
Oh, but it's been lightning and thundering for hours, as usual!
-lol-
And I ask again: why am I having to log in again every time I post?
Haha just can't catch a break! We've been getting missed all day too with radar estimating over 5" in Raleigh and then over 7" in places north of fountain.
Regarding logging in, my guess is either your browser is deleting the cookies or there should be a little box you click to "remember me" when you log in. Let me know if that works!

Radar estimates 1.30" where I live, most of the heavy rain stayed to my west, north and south but I'm seeing reports of 6" and more that fell in Cary with flooding ongoing. Car rescues, people stranded, etc. Also around 8.36" estimated by radar fell just west of Tarboro today from storms that trained. Incredible amounts of rain in only a few hours.

About 8:30 this morning I drove north through Pinetops to near Tarboro, and then a bit west. Towne Creek was out of its banks (though not over the road) where it crosses Hwy. 111 a few miles southwest of Tarboro; and I saw a couple places near Wiggins Lake and Noble Mill Pond where it looked like the road had been flooded earlier. But other than that, I didn't see anything unusual.

River reflects the huge amount of water getting into the system, luckily it was really low overall and able to absorb it and the overall area that saw a lot of rain was pretty small all things considered....still a respectable jump...

Yeah this wet pattern is setting the stage though if we end up having any tropical systems. With August not too far away I wouldn't be surprised if the tropics start ramping up. More storm chances Tuesday could be a stormy afternoon/evening again.

I don't think my browser is deleting cookies because I am not having the problem on any other sites.
And I am clicking the "remember me" button. It does no good. I have to log in again seemingly every time I post.
My July obs: 1.40" at my house today in a respectable thunderstorm with lots of close lightning. July is turning out to be a wet month around here.
