Yep right on time, best word I got is yuck.....mid 90's, high dews and little in the way of storms unless you get lucky for the next week, tropics look quiet.....just a lot of bleh.

Yeah usually when these big heat waves breakdown we get a few epic days of storms.....maybe even a few Derecho type systems, something to maybe get all teh way offshore and seed a TC....
The temperature at midnight on my back porch is 80 degrees, and the dewpoint is a fetid 76.
I love it, of course -- 2500 CAPEs at midnight, my cup o' tea.
But then, I usually associate this kind of weather with the occasional rumble of thunder, so it kind of blows not to have any storms at all.
It's still better than winter, which in eastern NC is just one long, worthless, painful enema. I'm old enough now to feel it: as any summer slips away, I am invariably filled with the dread of being another year older.
SPC keeps us on the marginal risk of severe weather for the next day or two. Chances of storms seems super slim but if one can get going it could be a good storm.

At least, on the 13Z update, they dropped the marginal risk area farther south into more of the state.

Yeah SPC has us in the marginal risk now for the next 3 days. It's likely to be very isolated but the storms that do develop could be quite intense with the heat and humidity in place. Also there are signs of the heatwave breaking down late this week into early next week.. if that does happen then as Ron mentioned we often get some rough storms when these heatwaves finally break.
4k nam aggressive with storms but keeps them just not that of pitt county.
Yeah looks like rocky mount is about as far south as they come. However in all likelihood these storms will become outflow dominant and if the outflow boundaries head south we could easily see storms developing along or behind the boundary in areas further south.
