Still a ways out and we've seen indexes look good only to fade. Any one of these weakens and it will change things. It would be nice to see that -nao come to fruition but man we haven't seen many of those recently.
Anytime I see 24 hours of quiet in here, I interpret that to mean that the models are backpedaling.
It still looks ok and the gfs has some snow on the run. It's the long range gfs and it's been bad this year. Need a few more days to really get a feel for the pattern developing.

"Looks ok," meaning more busted pipes and $600 LP gas deliveries? I'll pass. My two scandalously pissy little snows are enough for me his season. Bring the torch!
BTW, I had a pinhole-leaking pipe finally go rogue, and for two days I've been running a dry camp here, waiting for the plumber to show up.

Im with you. No more cold. Some good news is Greg Postel was talking about the upcoming pattern this morning and he said the SE US might be spared the brutal cold this time.

Yeah it’s just a waiting game now. We are in transition so expect cold/warm shots every few days for the next 7-10 days. Once the pattern solidifies into mid February we should see some more robust blocking and hopefully a southern low track.
We can rest this week but I expect us to have a threat to track by the next!
Well, everybody's dummied up about the weather, so I assume the models have gone all pear-shaped on us. People around here seldom post, "Well the models have gone all pear-shaped on us." They just stop posting. Gotta know how to read them tea leaves. -lol-
