I live in Elizabeth City. One of my daughters friends goes to ECU. I'm familiar with Wendell and Raleigh. This storm is gonna keep us on the outside looking in unfortunately I suspect. It would be nice to bust on the snow side around Eastern NC. I think I will still get top see snow on Saturday though. I'm looking at a Land Cruiser near Pittsboro and I'm scheduled to see it Saturday morning. Nice little drive for a Saturday morning.
Welcome aboard!! It would be great if we could all get a widespread, cold snowstorm without having to worry about temps or anything... but that just doesn’t seem to happen anymore around these parts. It seems we either get a lot of ice with very little snow... or a cold rain. I can’t remember the last all snow event we even had around this area... maybe back in 2009?
It’s looking more like rain for the weekend, but hey at least we do need some and maybe if we get lucky we will see a few flakes mixing in.
Anyone know if the CMC is down? Doesn't seem to be up on any of the usual sites.
It finally came back up but I never saw why or what happened. Looks like Western NC is going to get a nice storm with 3-6” of a heavy wet snow. We might see some token flakes on the backside, especially up in N to NE NC!
This storm is a prime example of why I can't stand the "people in the know" who state, "the ground is too warm" or, "it's December, we should just be happy to see snow this early." I don't know what rock they are under, but December has produced some of the greatest winter events I have ever seen. Low sun angle, u cannot beat it.
End rant...all.rain in wake co as usual.

I don't even get excited unless I see a big low suppressed way to the south that can then creep back with the NW trends. I never expect much from these types of setups this far east. Glad places along the gulf coast that rarely see snow got in on the action.
