It's pretty clear the models are struging in this very moist airmass. The hrrr missed the current convection firing and it just rained hard at work. Some cells may train over my house for a while so it'll be interesting to see what my station shows in the morning.
And just like that the hrrr is right back to giving us a good bout of rain overnight. Already a decent cluster of showers and storms moving up from the south with a much more expansive rain shield coming in off the ocean.
So many episodes of thunder today I can't count 'em. Sometimes it rains, sometimes it doesn't ... but it's like some kid has been playing with the thunder on/off switch all day.

Same here. All day long, and even now. Lightning, too.
No rain, though.
Pretty slick how this latest slug moving north toward me neatly split, with heavy elements heading both east and west of me. I think it's pretty funny.
OK. It's raining. Very light. Hasn't tipped my rain gauge yet. But there are drops falling now. Lightning all over the place. Just to judge by the lightning and thunder you'd think I was flooding out.
Thundering here again too, for the umpteenth time. Looking south on radar ... it's going to be a long, noisy night. And from what I read this isn't going to end any time soon.
