What's that thing crossing the Pungo River westbound? As seen on MHX base reflectivity:
Wondered the same thing Bozart. Looked at satellite and there is no indication of clouds or rain so my guess would be something else, maybe bugs or something military related.

Yeah, I'm thinking military chaff. More waves of it pressed inland overnight, and now more again today. Doesn't sound like bugs to me.
Same here, been pretty dry lately with storms all around but not over my house. Tomorrow is our last good chance, if nothing then we wait another week for another front.
A cold morning in the area. Greenville hovered 54-55 degrees (matching the dew point) from four to seven a.m. I went to bed at 6 a.m. snug as a bug under my quilt. (Window open and fan on as always.)

I guess the region in general has been getting sufficient rain to keep us out of drought status. Bt at my house particularly, I’ve only recorded 1.4” in the last 30 days.

Yeah the summer thunderstorms have helped many areas but most of the area is on the dry side of things. Noticing some extra crispy grass around Pitt county this week.
According to noaa, most of our area is about 1-3 inches below normal over the past 30 days. Its the heat that really makes that bad though.

I officially despise summer now. Yesterday was a scorcher for sure but the humidity was low so sitting outside In the shade in the breeze wasn't too horrible. You just couldn't do much else.
Today is just downright oppressive. Nowhere near as hot but sitting outside doing nothing and I'm soaked from sweat.
I am eagerly awaiting late September and the month of October which is by far my favorite time of year.
