2.1 from all the storms yesterday at the hluse. Considerably more just a mile or 2 to my east. Couple fields along stantonsburg rd were flooded pretty good. Matches up well with that estimate map you posted there bozart.
The heavy stuff has been skirting me just to my east, but I am happy to have the .38" that has fallen so far. Looks like that heavy slug that's following up from just east of Kinston will also skirt me to my east. Still, here's hoping for a rainy night.
I dunno about your totals boz but mine were real close. I'm at 4.2 for the event and there's some 5 inch totals to my east a couple miles.
Oh, I'm sure everyone outside of throwing distance from me is drowning. But here at Bozart Farm, counting the whopping .09" near-miss that just whizzed past me, my 5-day total is at a 1.27". I guess that's enough to keep the tobacco across the street from dying. But my peeps here in the neighborhood aren't building any Arks.
A friend of mine just recently got his PhD in Berkley, California. He's happy as a pig in you know what to be back with the sane people in Wilmington where he will now teach at UNCW.
Some parts of California have very pleasant weather but it's a big state and that's not universal. Who was it (Will Rogers?) who said something like "the coldest winter I ever spent was a summer in San Francisco"? Talk about boring weather, man oh man, San Francisco (perpetually cool) is a great place for that. My niece lives on the northern California coast where the ocean is always cold, and winter is simply "the rainy season." San Diego seems to have a near perfect warm climate but even there the ocean is frigid by Carolina standards. Ever notice how photos of California beaches show lots of people on the beach but scant few in the water? There's a reason for that, lol.
And then there's the state politics and demographics ... good grief, how long must we continue pretending California today is in any way related to the California of decades ago. The middle class is fleeing California in droves leaving behind the poor and the wealthy. And the cost of living? Don't even think about it. So why would anyone from the Carolinas ever want to move out there? It would be at the bottom of my list.
I still believe Maryland is the best state for geography and weather (exciting enough while still tolerable.)

You’re not alone. I don’t have a rain gauge but radar estimated a total of 1-1.5” at my house while areas along the coast got 8+ inches of rain and 3-5” in areas like Greenville.
