guys this band is a monster. I'm on the NE side of wake.
What's falling there?
I'm in Wendell. Under a 30DBZ pocket all rain right now. big show is on its way. and most intense banding may setup over or near me. Looks like the 850 line is gonna hold us sleet BUT under thee insane rates it could get interesting

Its all rate driven......lots of reports of heavy sleet/snow in the RDU area....for us in the east its just a wait and see how/where the band sets up and how long it last....also lots of "ghost" snow reports back all the way to the Triad as light to mod snow continued to fall well after radar showed no returns. Heavy snow has been reported as far south as around Fayetteville...and at one point it was snowing SE of RDU while still rain in Chapel Hill etc...as the colder upper air wraps the core of the ULL which should track just north of us.
Looking at radar returns and extrapolating outward the visible path, it doesn’t look like the changeover will make it here before the low has moved away.
You mean south of us? Water vapor imagery tells me that thing is closing in on Charleston, SC, headed due east. If anything, I'm worried about best dynamics missing me to the south at this point.
