Another west shift tonight on the gfs as it dissipates Jose and allows for more ridging. It's still a miss but a lot closer than the last few runs. If the models continue to speed up Jose's demise then Maria could still be a threat.
Euro even more ridiculous as it had Jose'S ghost over NC GFS is about 200 miles further west.
Yeah the euro is another crazy fujiwhara type event. Seems a bit extreme to me. GFS was doing what the last couple euro runs had been doing which is weakening Jose. Looking at his satellite appearance I would offer that he is becoming decoupled at a quickening rate. He looks like total garbage all of a sudden.

12Z GFS way west basically hits Emerald isle without coming ashore then due east OTS....would be bad news for the Crystal Coast to have a Cat 4 sitting 40 miles offshore for 12-18 hrs....
Well unless Jose changes then we should be ok with Maria. I guess it could still cha he but there's starting to be overwhelming model support for a miss OTS

By the way the navgem has shifted about 350 miles west and comes about 50 miles east of hatteras though it does the exact opposite of the Euro with Jose. Bottom line is the models arent finished with big shifts just yet.

Oh yea ... we're going to see some wild and crazy model solutions in the days ahead. Ain't it fun? Haha!
