Amazing shelf cloud rolled in right at dark here. Got the pic plus a flash of lightning back in the core. Nothing severe but dare I say this is seeming like summers of old?
Not nearly as much lightning tonight. At least, not here.
Just heard from a friend near Stokes, though, and he says the lightning at his place is/was incredible. But at my house it was a pretty forgettable, garden-variety storm.
Still raining. .59" so far.
The Fountain Weather Machine is messing up as always.

I managed to get missed by the line segment and the best I saw was the wind from the outflow boundary with very little rain. Sigh... My luck with severe storms is pretty bad. Another strong one heading for me but it'll either weaken or split around me.
On another note lots of reports coming in from the Greenville area of winds 50-60mph and trees down also. Awesome pic by shaggy, amazing structure and wish it was daytime! Thanks for sharing that though! You should share that in the weather photo area!
I went in an edited the pic to add some brightness to it. It was so much better in person because I had much better lighting. It had 3 very distinct rings with a slight bluish color in between the layering. Really was a beautiful structure.

Came home to some tree and large limb damage (and about a million pine cones) last night. The wife was home and actually got scared enough to get in the closet. Damage was limited to about a mile swath in my area.

Nice pics! Looks like some fairly strong wind damage.
I'm in OK today. SPC calling for supercells this afternoon. And may upgrade OK to an enhanced risk. Already (9:30am) Instability is up to the levels we normally pray for for good severe in NC lol... problem is I won't be able to chase anything but let's see what comes my way

Nice pics everyone! NCHurricane, thanks for sharing those looks like you had some really strong winds at your location. Possible downburst or microburst since the damage was limited to a 1 mile swath?

Thanks! That's what I'm thinking. I odd thing is that I went back and looked at the velocity scans for that time period from MHX and RAX and the highest winds aloft I saw was ~45mph. It must have been an extremely narrow corridor of winds.
