Pgv reporting under 16 inches of rain for the year so they are off average by about .3 inches. Normal is 16.22 while they have recorded 15.9 so far. This is a big relief from the past several years where it seemed we were seeing frogstranglers every other day.
I'm really hoping we get at least 1 or 2 more severe outbreaks before June 1st but it looks high and dry and hot next week.
I remember when MCSs from the Midwest would ride down and over the spine of the Appalachians and crash upon us from the northwest with some regularity. Now they always evaporate as soon as they clear the mountains. I think it's been 10 years, at least, since we had a decent cross-country complex make it to us in all its glory. What's going on?
Friday's thunderstorms saved Bozart Farm from having to log a truly arid month of May. My 1.17 inches on Friday (including a bit of marble-sized hail) brought my May precipitation total up to 1.80" -- less than ideal, but still a sight better than it would have been without the last-minute save.

Well we are all settled in here in Erwin, TN. LOVE the area and seeing mountains on a daily basis is such a weird concept. We could have a morning or too in the upper 40s over the next few days.. in JUNE haha.
Anyway looks like we are in our typical "dead zone" for weather over the next month or too. Severe is slowly going away and its too early for a hurricane.
