This is why you not hearing anyone talk about last nights Euro run on the big board really lol
Yeah, those guys have always been mountains-and-foothills, mountains-and-foothills. And South Carolina. And some Triad, and a bit less Triangle. Eastern NC has always been the red-haired-stepchild of that board.

I don’t even use American anymore. Nothing but a bunch of mindless crazy people over there.
I’m fairly active on southernwx. It’s kind of where all the “good” posters from American migrated. But even there it’s ALLL about the mountains or S.C. or Atlanta Georgia.
When it comes to snow for central and eastern nc we are mostly on our own haha and we have to put up with the 30 people wishing for a NW trend when we don’t want it to budge haha. That’s just how it’ll be with weather forums over such a broad area.
In the mean time winter has been terrible. Not one legit central/eastern nc threat. Not one. This Monday system was looking promising but it’s actually suppressed into nothing now and we can’t even get the NW trend to help us out lol.
So far I’ve got a grand total of .5 snow/sleet which melted in abt 2 hrs as 1.5 inches of rain fell.
NC winters... lol

I notice RAH and MHX are still not feeling it. Not Monday, not Tuesday.
Yeah its close but not close enough Monday, Tues looks a bit better its hard to predict how well the arctic front will do, its anafrontal and there will be a few waves riding along it....I wouldn't be surprised to see some snow squalls/showers at the minimum. Then next weekend hopefully something bigger comes along.....

4:18 a.m. and Raleigh hasn't piped up yet. Weird. I might not be able to stay up for it much longer. Gotta sleep.
The RGEM coming into range with precip shield much further NW with low track closer to the coast.....temps are 35ish at he surface but the column is perfect only above freezing right near surface so we should go rain/snow mix to snow.....if this pans out. Might sneak a few inches in...

Check this out Bozart this guy has been harping a surprise Monday hit for NC for a few days now....
I know he has. Meanwhile, two hours ago, Allan Huffman tweeted, "7 of 51 of the 00z EPS ensemble members show at least measurable snow at RDU with this system. We will see if the westward trends continue today." However, for instance, even though Huffman's 7/51 sounds pretty encouraging, it's really only 14%. But I'll keep watching. What else can I do?
This is going to be a rain or nothing event. Watch and see. Boundary level too warm and at the surface the temps are wayyyyy too warm. Rates can’t overcome that, no matter how heavy the qpf is.

I dont think they're that bad and it can be done. Overall I do agree it is sketchy on temps though. It's ever so close and i cant help but remember those euro and fv3 runs that gave us a good snow. We have a little time left for this to trend in our favor but the chances are very slim.

Ironically you stand the best chance to score a hit with snow on this one.
