This will be a good test for models. The HRRR has a bit warmer temperatures as do other models keeping the snow confined mostly to western NC while the HRRRX and a few other models are bringing enough cold air to change over areas like Greenville and Raleigh to snow.

Had a few big sleet pellets mixed in every now and again....there is a little finger of 0C 925 temps right with the heavier precip so thats why the reports of snow/sleet are happening that finger is just now moving in over Pitt Co so there is a chance during the heavier rates to get fat flakes and big sleet to the surface....doubt it could do anything but if it last 20-30 mins it might slush up the vehicles and roofs...
actually that is a older map if anything the 925's are pushing north a bit....
