Verified the record was broke at RDU...201 hours or 8.3 days without going above freezing. Wish we knew how this outbreak compares to 1899! It already surpasses 1976...but in 76 we got cold again. 76 will be tough to overall beat. Can we?

The previous record for RDU was 159 hrs...not sure if this is official NWS info or not

Still have 6-12" on the drifty shady north side of the house, a solid 4" in the yard still a solid 5 days after the event.....should lose quite a bit today and tonight lows will be above freezing so the melt wont stop....

This was yesterday I think still 4" solid snowpack front yard
Even the side still has 6" or so left though this area drifts a bit
