50 mph straight line wind here in FV...it had been raining for 30 minutes. Not one bit of Thunder...I was cursing a storm...then BOOM...out of no where it went beserk outside...nearly white out...branches and limbs flying everywhere...and intense lightning and thunder. Lots of rain so far...still coming down.

Wow nice! Did you get any video? It sounded pretty intense! Was it straight line winds or just a downburst?
Based off what I described it seemed like a downburst. The radar was pathetic...then it went boom into a small line. So I am not sure which it was. But I am ticked at rhe nws...my report did not show up and it is always hard to figure out how to do a report.
Video..no...like I said..it had been raining for 30 minutes...no thunder...I was mad. Then it went crazy out of no where. No time for video.
Basically Tyler I was not expecting it at all.

From what I saw on radar, it was probably a downburst and your description matches that fairly well. I assume it was raining hard when it hit? Or not really? That's awesome, glad you got a legit storm! Any damage?
probably a wet microburst is what ya got Jeff, when everything goes white like that and the "mist" is sinking straight down right as it hits thats a good clue it was a microburst.
Just limbs and the end of brnaches...my yard looks like a tropical storm hit in the backyard. There is a report on nws of trees and PowerLines down in FV...reported by broadcast media. I have not been out yet. Our power went out but came right back on. Must have been when the power lines went down somewhere. But yeah...it was raining cars and dogs...and when the wind hit...all of a sudden when there had been no thunder or lighting in 30 minutes...it was not stop hitting every where. It is like the storm extremely intensified right over us in no time. I was just sitting in my chair complaining about another busted storm. Lol

Haha well glad you finally got a good storm Jeff. Those surprise ones are the best kind. How's the baby doing btw?
Nice cool weather and soaking rains. Looking at the 10 day forecast, no 90s in sight right now. So far June looks like it will be a rather average month without any sustained heat waves for us.
Also, it's interesting we have TS Bret and will probably have Cindy soon too based on what recon is finding.
A very nice little surprise shower just did a hit & run here, dropping .14" in about 10 minutes and then moving on. It rained hard, but no thunder.
Nice, so far we've had about 2" of rain at my parents house the past few days. A nice heavy shower moved over for about 20 minutes, probably the same one that went through your area.
Well the GFS did a great job forecasting Cindy way out in advance almost 10 full days. Quite impressive really that it showed development and stayed consistent with it.
GFS shows no real heat waves in the long range with a couple days even in the 70's
Early-summer day: muggy as all get-out, with dewpoints in the mid-70s; sunny skies and building instabilities, with surface CAPEs around 2500 and LI at -5; breezy with at least 20 knots of sheer in the atmosphere; precipitable water well above 2". So naturally the chance for thunderstorms is virtually nil, because of course it is! -lol-
