As of 7:30am is 29 here at my house and surrounding areas are in the 27-30F range. The wind finally gave up enough to allow us to cool down quickly. Pretty impressive for early to mid April.
Yeah, but it was a ghost of the apocalypse that had been forecasted. We should have known.

yeah anytime you see winds forecast to continue well into the night you got to question how cold it can go, it dropped 7-8 degrees in 3 hrs after the wind shut off and DP's where in the 18-20 degree range so had that wind shut off earlier say 9-12 we would have gotten that killer freeze but the wind stayed up till 3am and saved it. Thats a tough thing to forecast IMO, luckily it stayed up as long as it did. My tomatoes made it through the last freeze somehow and now I should be good to go on the rest. Even the strawberries are trying to make it but they did take some damage.

Nice layer of fog developing outside tonight, could be pretty thick by morning especially low lying areas near water sources. No severe weather threats in sight, a slow start to spring for sure.

Looks like the warm weather is finally on the way with 83 predicted Tuesday next week and upper 70s to low 80s the rest of the week. Should start to see severe weather chances ramping up soon too.

After Sunday it looks like more of a typical spring pattern will set up. Upper 70s and low 80s with occasional systems moving through bringing thunderstorms. Hopefully severe weather season will get going soon, enjoy this cooler weather while it lasts too because this summer will be HOT.

Somebody Said this winter was going to be cold as well and we saw how well that turned out.

This wind has been persistent thus spring
Winter pretty much played out as expected by myself and many others except December was more extreme than anyone anticipated. December verified quite warm while January and February ended up both BN for temps. Sure we didn't get the snow we hoped for because the timing wasn't right but the temps and overall pattern were decent.
Likewise temps in the 70s and low 80s look like they are here to stay now. Much warmer temps are on the way and if the pattern follows typical weakening El NiƱo years it could be a hot and dry summer. Also the tropics will likely be quite active if this does occur.
39 this morning we are running close to 4 degrees below normal so far for April....should even out by the end of the month a little bit though but not much the GFS keeps the NE flow going strong on the last run with temps in the 80's in SC and mid 60's to 70 here for a lot of the rest of the month.

The dry spring so far is a bad sign for the summer. If we continue these long stretches of dry weather then it's going to get bad quickly. Also I saw the first day forecasted to hit 90F is next week.. Definitely not ready for that kind of heat yet.
