It's moving now -- moving south. That's what Alan Huffman said it would do.
Yep it’s been in the same spot for 12+ hrs. Our window has officially closed for heavy heavy stuff. Time for it to move slowly south and dump 1-2 feet on people. Going to be terrible..
I can't help hoping for more when the sun comes out and heats the earth. Something that shows structure.

It’s pouring here currently. Heaviest yet maybe. Some slight banding over Pamlico enhancing some rainfall
Actually this may be a legit band forming.

Btw. I’m passing the forecasted 8.7 inches forecasted by NWS right now here just south of PGV.
Do you expect much if any rain tomorrow?
I think we will see some rain tomorrow but it will be more spotty. Tomorrow the storm will start to hit areas further to the south of Pitt county. We will still get some rain that rounds the top of the storms convective envelope but nothing like today... hopefully.

Bozart, what’s your rain totals looking like there? Looks like that big band is moving south but one is trying to setup over the Pamlico area... getting about 1”/hr rates right now.

Passing 6.12" for the event now, so forecasting has met expectations. Raining pretty hard now, too.
Still hoping for some strong sunshine tomorrow, and not because I crave a sunny day.

So trends are concerning. The SREF predictions for the tar river have 4 inches over the basin and crest between 12-15ft.... we could double and triple that
Awaiting official word on storm surge and rainfall totals as that will certainly be the big story along the coast with the secondary story becoming inland river flooding which those of us on the tar won't have to worry bout this time.
Noticing the breeze picking up ... checked radar and was surprised to see a lot of action has expanded in our direction. Solid edge of "the storm" is approaching!
