They only expect dewpoints in the upper 50s and mid 60s but the NAM has been indicating upper 60s to 70s for dewpoints.
Dewpoint in Fountain has been running 62-63 for most of the past 24 hours.
Side note: the Fountain weather machine recorded last evening's rainfall successfully. Yay! It appears (for the moment, at least) the thing is back in the pink of health.

Yeah dewpoints should slowly rise during the day with a strong southerly flow. Already this morning I'm seeing some 64-68 degree dewpoints across Eastern NC.

Some nice storms finally firing in western NC. The models indicated these cells will continue to strengthen as they move east then begin to solidify into more of a cluster as they reach the Wilson, NC area.

Anyone here see anything interesting? We had a few decent storms one producing golfball size hail according to radar that went north of me and another went south. We did see some heavy rain and a little wind with a few storms here in Knigtdale but nothing extreme. Bozart you see anything interesting?

I hit the hay fairly early, but did hear multiple rounds of thunderstorms, although I think some of the action gave me a near miss. Readings tend to verify that: this morning my rain gauge here at the house shows a total (yesterday and overnight) of .48". The Fountain Store, however, just 2.6 miles away, picked up .99". They got a good douse from that midnight storm, which mostly missed me.

There was a mas-sive hail core that I watched drop out of a core of a thunderstorm on gr2. Just west of Chapel hill the core extended abt 30kft into the air. VIL was off the charts. Definitely a pretty active severe day but once storms began to move into the area their outflows killed them as they came through Raleigh. And it was dark by the time the real line got going.

At least we all had some summertime tumblers moving through the area, the severe storms usually miss us wherever we happen to be lol. We have another setup similar to Thursday's event coming soon. Sunday and Monday we will have a boundary draped west to east across the state with strong storms developing along it as a wave of low pressure moves along it. I would expect quite a few strong storms with hail and wind to pop up and the SPC does have us in a marginal risk during this timeframe also.
