80 degrees on my back porch, dewpoint mid-60s. It smells like a perfumery outdoors today, and I can see anvil clouds in the west. What a great time of year!

That rogue cell out west finally dying, not sure what it was anchored too but it was the only game in town, outside of the storms on the Sea Breeze.... PWATS and DP are low out there so the overall threat for today seems less than expected so far....there is a bit of a SW rolling through the mts now and models have a bit of a line with it later but it should be less than severe once it gets RDU east since timing would be after dark and a lot of instability will go poof....

Just got home. Here in fuquay varina got 2.25 inches of rain in the bucket. Neighbor stated we had some pretty big hail and lots of lightning. Of course I was in North Raleigh and missed everything.

Just had a good storm roll through with heavy rain and a few hailstones! Nice start to severe weather season! I couldn't see how big the hail was since my apartment is 2nd story and the deck above me blocks mine from seeing anything but I could hear a few hailstones hitting my window and the air condition unit. Based on the sound it made I would guess marble to dime size hail. Here is a radar screenshot.

Nice video and marble size hail, great start to the severe season and probably about the same as what I had except much less of it. Looks like winds were a little gusty too maybe 20-30mph or so?

Next possible threat could be the 29-30th of March. Larry Cosgrove has been talking this one up especially for the Gulf Coast regions and then up into the Carolinas. He thinks it will be a pretty significant outbreak, something to watch.
