Went ahead and started this thread since the SPC seems to think we have a good shot at seeing some supercells and already have us in an enhanced risk at Day 3. The 4km NAM also agrees with a strong line of supercells and embedded clusters moving across the state Sunday afternoon.

SPC still has most of NC in a slight risk with part of the state in a marginal. I wouldn't be surprised to see this upgraded later this afternoon or tonight as it becomes clear how much instability there will be.
today may be worse that thought as well, very unstable at the surface and while lacking shear there are a lot of boundries and low level instability to work with....timing is key tomorrow looks like its going to be after dark and thats not gonna help.

Agreed the high res models like 4km nam have done well recently and they're painting an active day today and extremely active day tomorrow with multiple supercells and bowing line segments. With 4K in cape and 3k mlcape right now it will be quite active today.
Storms have been laying down nice rains almost within walking distance to my north, south, and east. One storm tried to get going directly overhead a little while ago, but it died. I got three drops. It's been thundering here for an hour. But I've got zero on the gauge. Nothing. Nothing.
I know this sounds crazy but I have not seen a real t storm in years . Storm forms over head just now...POURS...goes from sunny to dark...35 mph winds estimate. Not the first sound of thunder. I am so sick of this. Plus my wife is from Memphis and I have to hear her laugh everytime.

Lol wow Bozart when did you invent that rain shield? It seems the prototype is working quite well Tomorrow looks like it will be extremely active with severe weather and chances for us getting some good sunshine between 11am to 4pm look pretty high.

Preston (fountainguy97) wanted me to let everyone know he encountered some strong storms tonight. He lost power and estimated peak winds of 60mph with lightning and a small fire caused by it also. Everyone is okay though!

I am just east of concord nc last night and didn't even take a direct hit. We (my college quartet) stayed the night at a youth camp. Whole thing to ourselves when the storm blew up. Easily 50mph winds and some insane lightning. Not much CG but had a bolt strike abt 100yards away in an open field. (We had been "exploring" the camp and got stuck out in a pretty exposed area.). All was dead still then we heard that infamous rumbling noise and the gust front tore through the wooded area. So we are out in the middle of a field trying to put this small brush fire out which went out easily when one of the strongest gusts I've seen in a while split a pine in half across our power lines. Now we have lines down abt 60ft away from us lol. Power Guys got power back on around 1am. All in all a very exciting night!
