Snowfall totals of 3-4” here in Elm City. Took about 5 different measurements across the yard. Highest was 3.75” and lowest right at 3” so I’ll call it 3.5” or so. Here was the final call forecast map we made for our weather page/website.

Going to call it 5", I measured 5" on the back of the car and the yard was covered enough to bury the weeds which were not short lol.....the 5" I measured was after compaction and I imagine 7-8" fell but the wet ground and warm day yesterday plus marginal surface temp of 32 did not lend itself to accumulation so the fact I could measure 5" this morning means if it had been colder and we had better conditions the crazy NAM totals might have worked out.....also being on the SE side of the county paid off I had heavier returns over me and there is a noticeable difference between my house and work 8 miles NW of my house.

I LOVE these heavy wet snows that stick to absolutely everything. Dad said there are inches of snow stuck on the trunks of trees around there. So beautiful even though it brings amounts down.
Gorgeous here today in the mountains with the 3inches we got yesterday.
Wonder if Tim saw more than 3" of snow and broke his 17 year drought?
I didn't measure anything but it looks like we got around 3" here in the Greenville medical district. Even now at 4pm there's still snow pasted on north-facing tree trunks. It's very pretty outside!

So today the last of the snow melted through my tipping bucket, and I tallied a storm total moisture of .66" -- which means once again a system disappointed because QPF underperformed. Like it always does. If I'd received the inch-plus of moisture I was assured was coming, then I'd have got 5 inches of snow instead of half that.
My stubborn old Bozart Rule is whispering in my ear: "Don't count on those optimistic QPFs!"
Hey the Bozart rule is always reliable, much more than weather models! You should build one that takes the average qpf of models and then adjusts it according to your rule haha.

-lol- For 61 years, no one's listened to me about anything. I'm pretty much used to it.
