1.35" here today, with some pea- and marble-size hail and strong winds -- and a power pole & transformer brought down by downburst winds just 1/2 mile northwest of me. What a great day!

I chased that storm. Nothing crazy but I did see a number of trees and limbs down and marble size hail. Had a storm roll through today and drop a quick half inch. Pretty cool to see my dewpoint and temp crash as the outflow boundary rolled through.
WPC's track record of massive, massive, massive red-faced, cringe-inducing busts continues in my back yard. What was advertised for days on end, and as late as this morning, as an up-coming 2" event turned out to be zero -- nada -- zippo -- not even a trace. IOW, _not_ _one_ _drop_.
Usually, I figure on about one fourth of the WPC-forecasted amount. Really, this goes for the Day1 or the 7-day, or anything in between. I mean, listen: If I actually realized the precip amounts that WPC consistently forecasts for my location, I'd be living on a lake in a rain forest, with a waterfall gushing down my driveway, and my house would be floating. Well, the Bozart One-fourth Rule didn't work out this time. And this seems to be happening more and more. I might have to revise the rule to one eighth. Or less. A lot less.

It will probably pick up soon with Dorian as a possible EC threat. I didn’t pick up much from this event either but ended up with a half inch total. Not great but better than nothing I suppose. This time of year with the cooler temps the ground doesn’t seem to dry out as fast.

VERY VERY dry here in NE TN. Hasn't rained a drop in nearly a month and only 1.5-2 inches in the last 60 days.
Fire season is about to kick off and we have a very very dry start. Grass is completely dead and plenty of trees showing dead leaves and wilting of some of the less hearty tree types.
Really need to see this SER break down. GFS looks nice and cool as we turn into October. I really hope that trough and front it forecasts around 240hrs comes to reality. We haven't had any fall temps here yet. Average temps are around 70 now and we are in the low 80s most days. Where is my fall mountain weather!! LOL

Anyone else ready for summer to end? Forecast high of 90 Wednesday then 93 on Thursday. By Saturday the highs will be in the 60s and lows in the 40s which will feel amazing.

I always mourn the death of any summer, so I'm all for having it hang on as long as possible. Winter will inevitably have its way soon enough (too soon for me, even if it's February).
No rain at my house since Sept. 13, and none in the 7-day. But still, this weather is, for me, nothing but enjoyable. And cheap! Every week I can avoid burning gas to heat his house is a good week.
Today is the 26th day in a row of dry weather at my house, with -zero- on the rain gauge. Nor does my current 7-day forecast from the Weather Service mention any chance for rain. That's quite a dry stretch. In other developments...if anyone is still reading this board, I'd say it's time someone started our Fall thread. I did the Summer. Someone else's turn.
